On the night of today, October 18 (20.00 October 17), Russian invaders launched an attack on Ukraine with Shahed-type attack drones and drones of an unidentified type.
The launches were carried out from the Russian regions of Kursk, Orel and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. This was reported on the Facebook page of the Air Force Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
As of 08.30, the radio technical troops of the Air Force detected and escorted 135 enemy drones, the report says. — The air attack is repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine.
It is noted that:
- as a result of anti-aircraft combat, 80 enemy UAVs were shot down in Odessa, Sumy, Cherkassy, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Kirovograd, Chernigov, Poltava, Khmelnitsky, Rivne, Kharkov, Kherson, Volyn and Vinnytsia regions;
- 44 Russian drones were lost by location;
- two drones flew to Belarus;
- up to 10 enemy drones in the airspace of the central regions of Ukraine. Combat work continues.
