The Secretary General of the Alliance spoke about how North Korea supports Russia in its war against Ukraine.
NATO has no evidence of North Korean soldiers involved in the conflict against Ukraine, but the Alliance knows that North Korea supports Russia in many ways. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced this on Thursday, October 17, in a press conference.
“We have no evidence that North Korean soldiers are involved in hostilities, but we know that North Korea is supported by Russia in many ways: supply of equipment, ammunition, technology, innovation, and this is very worrying,” said said Rutte.
Let’s remember that President Vladimir Zelensky said, at a press conference in Brussels, that North Korea is preparing a military contingent for the war in Ukraine. He noted that, according to intelligence data, North Korean officials are in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and are training Russian soldiers.
According to media reports, the Russians have begun forming a so-called “special Buryat battalion” based on the 11th separate air assault brigade of the Russian Army. It will be staffed by North Korean citizens.
