Admired positions due to terrain conditions are, in fact, single-man holes, said National Guardsman Bayev.
In an operation that lasted more than two months in a forest in the north of the Kharkov region, several dozen Russian soldiers were captured. This was announced by the head of the planning department of the 13th brigade of the National Guard, Charter Anton Bayev, Ukrinform reports on Thursday, October 17.
“During this whole big operation, I think they numbered more than 20, and maybe 30. These were warriors of different types mobilized without any strong training the Wagnerites who were still in Bakhmut .
According to Baev, the GUR was assigned specific tasks of clearing hostile positions and the advancement of the Charter brigade performed the role of supporting these actions – assisting with artillery, electronic warfare equipment, and replacement of advancing GUR units.
The situation in the brigade’s area of responsibility is now under control. The fighters are gaining a foothold in positions that have recently been restored.
According to the National Guard, positions gained due to terrain conditions (elevation changes, ravines, gullies – ed.) are, in fact, single-person holes.
“It’s not just a dug hole – it has different squads to prevent damage from grenades. There are a lot of them. As we can see: one hole per person, it can be four meters deep and very difficult clear. They are placed in sectors that overlap each other to avoid “blind spots.”
Earlier it was reported that the military conducted a successful operation in the Lipets area of the Kharkov region. They managed to destroy almost a regiment of Russians and clear 400 hectares of forest.
