The EU knows that Ukraine needs a lot of support, both military and financial. Michel assured that the partners are thinking of ways to speed up military aid.
The President of the European Council Charles Michel in Brussels emphasized that Ukrainian citizens can count on continued support from the European Union, as well as the fact that Ukraine’s future lies in the EU. He said this on Thursday in Brussels at a joint press briefing with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky before the start of a meeting of the European Council, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
Michel invited Zelensky to take part in a meeting of EU leaders, where the Ukrainian head of state will present the Victory Plan.
“It is my great honor and pleasure to welcome the President of Ukraine here in Brussels. In a few minutes we will have the opportunity to exchange views after your presentation, dear President, I have two messages for the people of Ukraine and for you, dear President First message: EU, we are on your side as long as necessary, whatever the cost,” said Michel.
He added that the EU knows that Ukraine needs a lot of support, military and financial. And he assured that the partners are considering opportunities to speed up military assistance.
Michel called Ukraine’s membership in the EU a second message for the Ukrainian people.
In the end, Michel concluded that the Ukrainian people and the EU “share the same values.”
“We are amazed by the bravery and courage of the people of Ukraine. Thanks to your personal courage, you can count on the EU,” he added.
