All these years, the relatives were looking for an opportunity to return one of the women, specifically they asked for help from the Office of the Ombudsman.
Ukraine managed to return two more women from temporarily occupied territories. The Russians held one of them against his will. This was said on Wednesday, October 16, in the Telegram of Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets.
“We managed to successfully organize the evacuation of two women recently, one of whom was illegally detained by the Russians for a long time. After that, she underwent a process of treatment and recovery,” said Lubinets.
He noted that all these years, the relatives have been tirelessly looking for opportunities for the girl’s return, in particular, they have sought help from the Office of the Ombudsman.
“Since the Ukrainian woman’s health has deteriorated after her illegal imprisonment, she needs constant support. Therefore, her sister was evacuated with her, providing the necessary psychological and physical assistance,” added the ombudsman.
Nine teenagers and a 20-year-old boy were returned to Ukrainian-controlled territory from the occupied territories and Russia.
It was previously reported that 12 more minor Ukrainian citizens were returned to Ukrainian-controlled territory from the occupation.
