In Transcarpathia, the rector of a university was detained for fictitiously training more than 300 men.
According to journalist Vitaly Glagoly, the rector of the East European Slavic University Lyudmila Nesukh was detained.
Glagola wrote that over the weekend a group of people was detained in the Uzhgorod region, which included the rector and former vice-rector of a private university, as well as a military law enforcement officer.
They organized a corruption scheme, according to which men of military age received the status of “education applicant” for 1,500 euros and a deferment from mobilization for 500-1,000 dollars. As a result of the searches, more than 4.5 million UAH in various currencies were seized.
It seems that about 300 people of military age were able to take advantage of the scheme.
There were no official comments from this university or from law enforcement agencies as of 4:00 p.m. on October 15.
UPDATE. The security service in its release on October 15 reported that in Transcarpathia the rector and vice-rector of a private university were detained, who, without entrance exams, enrolled dodgers for bachelor’s degrees in their own and foreign universities.
The defendants promised such “students” unimpeded registration of deferments. To do this, the leadership of the Transcarpathian university involved an official of the military law enforcement service in illegal activities.
After the SBU was exposed, the local commission of the Uzhgorod RTCC and SP canceled the previously granted deferments from conscription to 225 draft dodgers who took advantage of the “student scheme”.
