A Russian agent operating in Volyn heard the court verdict. We are talking about a 40-year-old assistant to the head of a department of a local border detachment, who was recruited remotely by the Russian FSB.
According to the instructions of the Russian intelligence service, the agent collected information about the bases, movement routes and available weapons of the Defense Forces involved in the defense of the region.
Most of all, the occupiers were interested in the locations of fortified areas and the approximate number of personnel of the Ukrainian troops on the defense lines.
SBU counterintelligence officers detained the traitor in June of this year and identified his Russian curator.
He turned out to be a career FSB officer, Alexey Dobritsky, stationed in temporarily occupied Lugansk. The court sentenced the “mole” to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property and deprivation of his military rank.
The border guard came to the attention of the FSB while serving in eastern Ukraine. Subsequently, he was sent to the Volyn region, where he began to carry out enemy tasks. In exchange for cooperation with the occupiers, the attacker expected “evacuation” to Russia and a “position” in Russian military formations.
Based on the evidence collected by Security Service investigators, the agent was found guilty under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state betrayal committed under martial law).
