North Korean military may end up at the front in Ukraine.
Several thousand soldiers from the DPRK are currently undergoing training in Russia, and by the end of the year they may be transferred to the front in Ukraine. And officers from North Korea are already in the occupied Ukrainian territories and are monitoring Russian troops and studying the battlefield. This was reported by the Washington Post with reference to a representative of Ukrainian military intelligence.
It is noted that the Ukrainian Defense Forces have not yet encountered a single North Korean unit that has participated in hostilities.
Intelligence does not know in which direction the Russians can deploy combat units from the DPRK military. It is assumed that they can be used in Russian border regions to relieve the Russian army.
This could have a significant impact. Especially if we are talking about the release of reserves on the territory of the Russian Federation itself,” the source noted.
Let us recall that the other day South Korean Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun said that the DPRK could send its military to Ukraine in support of the Russian Federation. This development of events is quite realistic, since the Russian Federation and North Korea previously signed a mutual agreement similar to a military alliance.
