The Lithuanian Ministry of Defense is buying more than 2,300 domestic drones for its own armed forces, as well as 5,000 for Ukraine.

The first combat FPV drones produced by Lithuanian companies were transferred to the Lithuanian army under a contract from the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense. Most of them will be transferred to Ukraine. This was reported by the defense department.

They also called the reception of the first batch of Lithuanian-made combat drones a landmark event.

“We are buying more than 2,300 Lithuanian drones for our own armed forces, and we will also provide about 5,000 of these drones to Ukraine, which will strengthen our and Ukrainian defense,” the department said.

Let’s recall that the Lithuanian Defense Resources Agency entered into agreements worth 8 million euros with five local manufacturers for the purchase of UAVs. The drones will be supplied to the Lithuanian army and the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
