The UK has added two Russian oligarchs to its sanctions list. Their assets were frozen and sanctions were applied to them under trust services. This was stated in a statement by the British government on Friday, October 11.

Britain has made two changes to the list of people subject to sanctions against Russia. Andrei Melnichenko and Grigory Berezkin were hit. They are now subject to asset freezes, trust sanctions, travel bans, and transport sanctions.

Berezkin is an oligarch close to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. Owner of the ESP group of companies involved in the oil, electricity, media and venture investments industries.

Melnichenko is the main beneficiary of the international fertilizer manufacturer Eurochem and the coal and energy company SUEK (Siberian Coal Energy Company).

Let’s recall that earlier the UK imposed sanctions against the radiation, chemical and biological protection of the troops of the Russian Armed Forces and their military leader Igor Kirillov.
