The Belgorod region borders the Kharkov region to the east and south. The Russian military continues to bombard Kharkov with missiles and guided bombs from the region.
The governor of the Belgorod region of Russia, Vyacheslav Gladkov, announced the evacuation of residents of two villages – Petrovka and Solovyovka, located near the border of the Kharkov region of Ukraine. He announced this on Tuesday, October 8, clarifying that the decision was made at a meeting of the Operational Headquarters.
In particular, he wrote that the villages “are being closed to entry and the resettlement procedure is beginning.”
Gladkov assured that the residents will be given other houses, but did not specify the details. He cited “frequent shelling” as the reason for this decision.
In 2010, 413 people lived in Petrivtsi, and only 46 in Solovyovki.
It was previously known that GUR and MTR fighters derailed a train in the Belgorod region. The explosion occurred on the Stary Oskol – Valuiki railway section.
