About 70% of citizens of EU member states believe that their countries would benefit from membership in the European Union.
Seven out of ten Europeans believe that EU membership is important for their country. This is confirmed by the results of a Eurobarometer survey conducted after the June elections to the European Parliament and published on Monday, October 7.
When talking about the benefits of the Commonwealth, they point to: greater cooperation between countries (36%), protecting peace and enhancing security (32%), positive factors for economic growth (28% ), more job opportunities (24%).
The countries most satisfied with their EU membership are Portugal, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Denmark, Ireland, Poland and the Baltic countries, Croatia, and Hungary.
The most “Eurosceptics” are in France, Austria and Bulgaria.
The overwhelming majority of respondents are positive about the future of the European Union and their number is growing. The indicator of positive perception of the European Parliament was the highest during the survey – 42%.
