In September, flooding in Europe caused by Storm Boris killed at least 21 people in Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria and Romania.
Ukraine will transfer humanitarian aid to the Czech Republic to overcome the consequences of the emergency situation as a result of the flooding caused by Storm Boris. The Office of the President reported this on Monday, October 7, citing the statement of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
“To help overcome the consequences of the emergency situation that has developed in the Czech Republic as a result of the flood, in accordance with Article 10 of the Law of Ukraine “On Humanitarian Aid,” I decided: to provide humanitarian aid to the Czech Republic,” the document said.
According to the document, the Cabinet of Ministers must ensure the provision of humanitarian aid to the Czech Republic.
Let’s remember that Storm Boris caused the worst flooding in Europe in the last two decades. Houses, roads and infrastructure were destroyed. Poland has declared a state of emergency in its southern regions. Romania, Austria, and the Czech Republic were also affected.
The death toll from heavy rain and flooding in central and eastern Europe has risen to 21.
