Ukraine received the first F-16 fighters from the Netherlands
Another 24 of these combat aircraft will be delivered in the coming months. In addition, the Dutch government has also initiated a drone action plan, providing for the supply of UAVs to Ukraine for 400 million euros. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, Ruben Brekelmans, who visited Ukraine on October 6.
For the first time, I can officially announce that the first Dutch F-16s have been delivered to Ukraine. The remaining 24 aircraft will appear in the coming months, he said.
At the same time, the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, Rustem Umerov, said that the F-16 in Ukrainian airspace is evidence of the unwavering support of the people and government of the Netherlands.
Umerov and Brekelmans also discussed crew training and the supply of weapons and spare parts for the F-16.
Let us recall that in September, President Vladimir Zelensky held a meeting regarding increasing the F-16 fleet. The head of state emphasized that there is already a clear understanding of the steps to increase the number of combat aircraft in Ukraine and speed up the training of our pilots.
