In the Kharkov region, Russian oppositionist Ildar Dadin, who fought on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, probably died.
Former presenter of Echo of Moscow Ksenia Larina reported this on her page on the social network X.
They just reported that Ildar Dadin died. In a battle in the Kharkov region,” she wrote.
In a comment on the Sota Telegram channel, Larina said that another participant in the war told her about this – former vice-president of Gazprom Bank Igor Volobuev, who in turn referred to fellow soldier Dadin.
According to Volobuev, Dadin fought under the call sign “Gandhi”.
In 2015, Dadin became the first person convicted in Russia under Article 212.1 of the Criminal Code “Repeated violation of the established procedure for organizing or holding a rally.” Later this article received the unofficial name “Dadinskaya”.
After his dismissal, Dadin continued to regularly participate in pickets and rallies, and in March 2022 he emigrated to Poland. In June 2023, he joined the Siberian Battalion, fighting on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and then transferred to the Russian Freedom Legion.
The legion’s press service refused to comment on Sota’s report on Dadin’s death.
Gandhi is a fighter of the Legion “Freedom of Russia”; we will not comment on the course of hostilities until the end of the operation, thank you for your understanding,” the Legion noted.
