The decision is currently being discussed, but the head of the White House said that he will consider other alternatives other than attacking the oil facilities.
US President Joe Biden called on Israel not to target Iran’s oil facilities and to be more mindful of civilian casualties. He said this in a briefing on Friday, October 4.
Biden noted that the peace plan he drew up to end the war in the Gaza Strip received the support of the UN Security Council and the majority of international partners.
At the same time, he believes that Israel has “every right to respond to malicious attacks,” not only from Iran, but also from the Hezbollah group.
“But the truth is that they (the Israelis – ed.) need to be more careful about civilian casualties during military operations,” Biden added.
Journalists also asked the American president to explain his words about a possible Israeli attack on Iranian oil facilities.
“Israel has not yet decided what it will do in response to Iran’s actions, it is under discussion. If I were in their place, I would think of other alternatives than attacking the facilities of the oil,” he said.
Earlier, Biden told reporters that the United States was discussing with Israel the issues of a strike on Iran’s oil facilities in response to Iran’s October 1 missile attack.
It will be recalled that on October 1, the Israel Defense Forces began a limited ground operation in southern Lebanon. The Israelis also killed the leader of the Hezbollah movement, Hassan Nasrallah.
In response, Iran fired 180 ballistic missiles at Israel. He promised to give an answer.
