Poland will allocate a record amount for defense in 2025 – 186.6 billion zlotys (about $48 billion). This was stated by Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysh on October 4, Ukrinform reports.
According to him, Poland can be safe because it allocates more than 2% of GDP to defense, thereby exceeding obligations to NATO countries.
The Polish minister noted that in the draft budget for next year, approved by the Council of Ministers and submitted to the Polish parliament, 186 billion 600 million zlotys are provided for defense. Next year, Poland will spend 4.7% of the country’s GDP on weapons.
“Spending on defense and security is a priority by right,” emphasized Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh.
We remind you that Poland and the United States have signed an agreement to provide a direct loan to Warsaw under the Foreign Military Financing program in the amount of $3.08 billion.
Earlier it became known that Poland bought 96 Apache helicopters from the United States. These vehicles will provide new combat capabilities for hitting targets and will replace the Mi-24.
