The Democratic vice-presidential candidate has been caught making false statements on more than one occasion.
Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris’ campaign is facing an unexpected problem: vice presidential nominee Tim Walz has a tendency to make inaccurate statements that he needs to justify. Poltico wrote this on Thursday, October 3.
So, the moderator of a televised debate between Volz and Republican candidate JD Vance on CBS asked about his trip to Hong Kong in 1989. For years, Walz had said publicly that he was there in during the explosion in Beijing. But in the debate he said, “All I said about it was I was there last summer.”
“Sometimes I get silly,” he added, admitting that he got the dates wrong.
Walz also repeatedly described himself as a “retired staff sergeant.” However, he did not complete the relevant sergeant courses.
A few years ago, while campaigning for governor, he said he didn’t want the weapons he “carried into war” available to ordinary Americans — giving the false impression that he had seen combat.
Harris’ campaign said he “made a mistake.”
In addition, the politician often had to justify himself about a well-known fact from his biography – his arrest in 1995 for drunk driving when he was a school teacher in Nebraska.
It was noted that Walz’s false statements contradicted his image as a decent and honest man from the Midwest.
It was previously reported that Harris chose Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as his possible vice president because he liked his track record and resume.
We remind you that in the debate between vice-presidential candidates Tim Walz from the Democratic Party and JD Vance from the Republican Party, Vance won by a small margin.
