Two Ukrainian women vacationing there drowned near the Greek island of Corfu. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports on Tuesday, October 1.
“On September 30, the Ukrainian Embassy in the Hellenic Republic received a message from the coast guard of the island of Corfu about the death of two Ukrainian citizens that occurred at sea recreation,” the department said.
The identities of the deceased have been established – citizens of Ukraine, mother and daughter born in 1972 and 1992.
Embassy employees contacted a relative of the deceased in Ukraine and informed them about the tragedy.
It was previously reported that in Greece, rescuers recovered the bodies of two Ukrainian women from the sea. The women were identified by a hotel bracelet on their wrist.
