Three rockets were fired towards the Victory base at the Baghdad airport. Two were shot down by the air defense forces, one fell.

The US Victory military base at Baghdad airport came under rocket fire. Shafaq News and AFP reported this on Tuesday, October 1, citing their own sources.

“The Victory Base at Baghdad Airport was attacked by three missiles, two of which were shot down by the air defense forces of the base and the third fell near the headquarters of the counter-terrorism command,” said a security source.

There were no casualties, the shooting did not affect air traffic.

There are 2,500 US troops stationed in Iraq and armed groups linked to Iranian security forces.
Since the outbreak of war in the Gaza Strip in the fall of 2023, armed groups linked to Iran in Iraq have repeatedly attacked American troops.

Two rockets fell on the site of the American military base Camp Victory, located near Baghdad airport in Iraq.

Earlier, the United States announced the end of its military mission in the fight against the Islamic State terrorist group in Iraq.
