The suspect in Trump’s murder has pleaded not guilty

Ryan Routh, suspected of trying to kill former US President Donald Trump in Florida, has pleaded not guilty. ABCNews wrote this on Monday, September 30.

Root, 58, appeared in federal court in West Palm Beach on Monday for an arraignment that lasted less than five minutes. Lawyers spoke for him. They entered not guilty pleas.

Root was previously charged with illegal possession of a firearm and was subsequently indicted on three new charges: attempted assassination of a presidential candidate, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a violent crime and assault on a federal official He is currently being held without bail.

Florida prosecutors said in court filings that there are “sufficient grounds to bring additional charges that the court can and should consider.”

The accused faces life imprisonment.

Let’s remember that on September 15, a shooting took place near a golf club in Florida, where Trump was staying. Secret Service agents spotted the gunman and opened fire on him. He was later imprisoned. The FBI called the incident “consistent with an assassination attempt on Trump.”

The detainee is Ryan Wesley Root. According to media reports, he expressed support for Ukraine on social networks after the Russian invasion.
