G7 foreign ministers have said they will never recognize Russia’s annexation of four Ukrainian regions.
This statement was published by the Italian Foreign Ministry on the second anniversary of the illegal so-called referendums in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
“We will never accept these and other violations of international law committed by Russia against Ukraine, and condemn Russia’s unlawful aggression, human rights violations in occupied territories and ongoing brutal attacks on civilian infrastructure,” the statement said.
Diplomats called on Russia to implement the UN Charter and promised to continue supporting Ukraine and its legitimate defense.
This war can end now if Russia immediately withdraws its troops from Ukraine to its internationally recognized borders, renounces its claims regarding the annexation of the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, Zaporozhye regions and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and respects the sovereign rights of Ukraine as an independent state, they emphasized head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
