The head of the FSB intelligence group operating in Zaporozhye received a life sentence.
In the spring of 2023, he and his accomplice (which is why the court imposed 15 years in prison) were preparing a series of terrorist attacks against the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and SBU special forces performing combat missions on the southern front.
To do this, agents tracked temporary locations and movement routes of Ukrainian defenders in the region and transmitted this information to the FSB in the form of marks on Google maps with detailed descriptions and photographs.
SBU counterintelligence officers exposed the agents and detained them during a special operation in Zaporozhye in early May 2023.
The resident of the group turned out to be a 52-year-old local resident. He came to the attention of the occupiers because of his pro-Kremlin views, which he demonstratively expressed among those around him. The accomplice whom he recruited to carry out the tasks worked as a driver for the head of one of the regional administrations of Zaporozhye.
