CEC explained the annual update of the voters’ register

The Central Election Commission clarified that the continuation of work of the State Register of Voters is only related to the registration of permanent polling stations and is part of the planned annual technical work. This is stated in the CEC resolution.

This does not mean upcoming elections, but database preparation for possible future elections.

The Central Election Commission has announced the decision to continue the operation of the automated system “State Register of Voters” to record permanent polling stations.

The work is unrelated to the upcoming election and is part of the general preparation of the database for future use.

Regarding the reasons for this decision, the CEC explained that updating the register is a planned task that is carried out annually, UP reports.

“This is a regular planned work that continues to be carried out, we have a large number of internally displaced people and destroyed areas before, and now it is time to update the information about the polling stations the elections will be held in the near future – it is exclusively about the planned technical work Similar events are held annually in accordance with the regulations – to prepare the database for possible post-war elections.

Currently, registration is not yet open for public use is ongoing.

Let’s recall that earlier the Central Election Commission explained that during martial law the powers of the President of Ukraine cannot be terminated.
