Denmark has ordered a batch of Skyranger air defense systems

The German defense concern Rheinmetall has received a large order from Denmark for the Skyranger 30 air defense system it announced on Monday, September 30.

It is indicated that as part of this order, Rheinmetall Air Defense signed a contract with the Defense Procurement Agency of the Kingdom of Denmark FMI for the production of 16 anti-aircraft modules.

The order is worth a three-digit sum, worth millions of euros. Rheinmetall also received double-digit orders for ammunition worth millions of euros.

The director of the Danish defense procurement agency FMI, Lieutenant General Per Pugholm Olsen, said that this contract represents an important step towards providing the Danish army with air defense capabilities, which make a significant contribution to the entire operational combat capability of the royal army.

The Skyranger 30 is an anti-aircraft system integrated into a gun turret. Designed for reconnaissance, tracking and repelling air attacks. It carried a modified version of the 30mm Oerlikon KCA gun and two short-range surface-to-air missiles. In Denmark, these anti-aircraft modules will be mounted on the Piranha 5 chassis.

It was previously reported that Rheinmetall will move the Skyranger system to Ukraine for testing in combat conditions.

The Ukrainian military also demonstrated firing from the Skynex complex developed by Rheinmetall.
