The brigade commander of the 72nd Mechanized Brigade, defending Ugledar, was dismissed from his post.
Commander Ivan Vinnik himself announced this, thanking the soldiers for their service.
OK “Sever” reported last week that Vinnik was allegedly appointed to the top position “for the purpose of promotion and for the transfer of combat experience.” It noted that the colonel is “an example of a true and honest military officer, an experienced and humane commander.”
At the same time, Vinnik himself has not yet confirmed the new appointment, nor has he given the reasons for the dismissal.
Let us note that, according to Ukrainian military analysts, the situation in Ugledar is now critical.
The 72nd brigade defended Bakhmut, and now Ugledar in the Donetsk region.
Last week, OK Sever reported that Vinnik was appointed to the top post “for the purpose of promotion and for the transfer of combat experience.” They added that under the leadership of Vinnik in January-February last year, the brigade repelled “one of the largest offensives during the Russian-Ukrainian war.”
