Donald Trump, the former US president and Republican candidate in the current presidential election, said he does not consider his strategy to end Russia’s war against Ukraine to be “surrender.”
He told reporters this today, September 27, before a meeting with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in New York, Voice of America reports.
This is not surrender. My strategy is to save lives. I want to save a life. Millions of people are dead, millions more than they even realize. And this is not my fight, but it is a fight to save humanity,” Trump said.
Trump also said that “this is a terrible war that would never happen” if he were president.
He repeated his thesis that he could quickly reach a peace agreement between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
