The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine condemned and called unacceptable the use of images of the consequences of Russia’s war against Ukraine in advertising. This was stated in a statement of the department about the advertising banners of the Georgian Dream party in power.
The Foreign Ministry said that “the Georgian people should not fear a new war as long as Ukraine resists Russian aggression.”
“The terrible price of this resistance is also the price of peace in Georgia. We call on the government of Georgia, the ruling Georgian Dream party and all interested parties to refrain from using the theme of an aggressive war against Ukraine and its citizens in the country. internal political struggle in Georgia,” the statement said.
The department noted that Ukraine will continue to, firmly and decisively support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia within its internationally recognized borders.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry also expressed hope that the parliamentary elections in Georgia will be held in a peaceful and democratic manner, and that Georgians will continue their strategic course towards joining the EU and NATO.
We remind you that the Georgian Dream party, as part of the election campaign, made banners with images of the destruction caused by Russia in Ukraine and, on the other hand, peaceful life in Georgia. Signatures on the banners call on voters to “choose peace” and “say no to war.”
