The British Minister of the Armed Forces said that now it is necessary to increase production not only to replenish our own warehouses, but also to extend aid to Kyiv.
Western allies have moved most of their weapons to Ukraine, emptying their own warehouses. This is what British Armed Forces Minister Luke Pollard said, The Times wrote on Wednesday, September 25.
Ahead of the meeting at the United Nations headquarters in New York, Pollard said the West should focus on increasing arms production as part of a long-term strategy that would ensure a reliable supply of military equipment to Ukraine.
“I think most Western countries have given Ukraine most of the resources they have in their arsenal… so we see a closer trade relationship taking shape,” he said in a Labor conference event.
At the same time, he did not mention how depleted the UK’s arms stockpile is.
“We not only need to replenish our reserves, we need reliable supplies of them in Ukraine to continue the fight,” he emphasized.
Earlier, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer instructed the country’s National Security Council to develop a plan for expanded support for Ukraine.
