Officials of the State Bureau of Investigation completed an investigation into the organizer and members of a criminal group that stole men trying to get to Europe.

In fact, the attackers forged these documents. Also, knowing the “clients” were planning to deliver large sums of money to the border, they decided to cash them again. On March 28, at a meeting in Lviv, the men were given fake certificates and told to get into a car that would take them to the border.
The driver, who was unaware of the criminal plans, was supposed to take the men to a certain place in one of the villages of the Yavoriv region. Another accomplice wearing the uniform of TCC workers was waiting for them there.
Fake TCC workers said the men could avoid legal trouble if they paid $20,000. After receiving the money, the defendants were detained by law enforcement officers.
The organizer of the criminal group and his accomplice were accused of fraud and extortion. Three other members of the group were also accused of extortion.
Two of them admitted their guilt and promised to donate 100 thousand hryvnias each to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The punishment of the articles provides punishment in the form of imprisonment of up to 12 years with confiscation of property.
