The case is not criminal. Cherkassy doctors called this situation “a case of academic level.”
Doctors at the Cherkasy Regional Hospital found six wrenches in the patient’s body. This was reported by the Department of Thoracic Surgery on Facebook.
The incident happened in August. The man’s body was found to have foreign bodies during an x-ray.
The patient was hospitalized with the following problems:

Phlegmon of the neck is a serious inflammatory disease characterized by suppuration and requires surgical intervention;
-
rupture of the esophagus at the level of the pharynx and middle third;
-
total mediastinitis – an inflammatory process in the tissue of the mediastinum (space in the chest cavity);
-
empyema of the pleura on the right side – purulent inflammation of the connective tissue membrane covering the lungs and the inner surface of the chest;
-
foreign body;
-
prolapse of the stomach.
“The department’s doctors simultaneously performed a left-sided cervicotomy, a right thoracotomy with mediastinotomy, an upper-middle laparotomy, a gastrotomy with gastrostomy,” the report said.
The patient was in the hospital for three weeks. He has been discharged home.
Representative of the Main Director of the National Police in the Cherkasy region Zoya Vovk in the commentary Suspilny said the case was not criminal. The police have not yet registered any complaint in this regard. Doctors call this situation an “academic-level case.”
