Russian invaders have advanced west of the village of Peschanoye in the northeastern part of the Kharkiv region.
This was reported today, September 23, in a British intelligence report published on the UK Ministry of Defence page on the X social network.
Russian troops are likely seeking to reach the eastern bank of the Oskil River to use it as a natural defensive barrier and create conditions for future operations, the report said.
At the same time, it is noted that the main direction of the Russian troops’ advance remains Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. In particular, it is indicated that Russia has most likely captured the cities of Grodovka and Ukraine, located to the east and south of Pokrovsk, respectively.
Russian troops are about 8 km from Pokrovsk. Ukrainian reinforcements, urban areas and Ukrainian defenses have likely contributed to the slowdown in Russian advances along the axis over the past week, the department said.
