An unknown person carried out a shooting in a grocery store in the Kyiv region.
The incident occurred today, September 22, in the Obukhovsky district. An attacker with a machine gun entered the store at about 2:00 p.m. and began shooting chaotically. The seller and the owner of the establishment were injured. The shooter then fled. This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine.
The police officers who arrived at the scene called for medical assistance and identified the perpetrator. He was a 36-year-old local resident with a criminal record.
The shooter was quickly detained and the weapon was confiscated. The wounded have already received medical assistance. Their lives are not in danger now.
Law enforcement officers opened a criminal case under Part 4 of Article 296 (hooliganism committed with the use of weapons) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The defendant faces up to seven years in prison.
Let us recall that in August, in the village of Dobryvody in the Ternopil region, a 45-year-old soldier from the Zhitomir region opened fire on people. As a result of the shooting, two women were killed, and four more people received gunshot wounds and were hospitalized.
