The overwhelming majority of Russians surveyed (63%) want to conclude a peace agreement between Moscow and Kiev within the next year based on mutual concessions.
About half (49%) of Russian citizens surveyed would support the withdrawal of Russian troops and peace negotiations in Ukraine without achieving the goals of their President Vladimir Putin. This was confirmed by the results of a survey by the Extreme Scan research group, reports The Moscow Times on Friday, September 20.
This is believed to be the highest number since the beginning of the war. At the same time, only 33% of respondents would not support such a decision.
The overwhelming majority of respondents (63%) want to conclude a peace agreement between Moscow and Kiev within the next year based on mutual concessions. Given the choice between peace and mobilization, 49% would prefer peace, while only 29% would support a new wave of mobilization.
Also, 30% of the Russian participants in the study directly stated that they were not ready to go to war.
The survey was conducted from September 10 to 17 and covered 800 people selected through stratified random sampling. The error of the results is 3.45% at a 95% confidence level.
It was previously reported that more than a third of Russian citizens consider the use of nuclear weapons in the war against Ukraine “justifiable”.
We remind you that Russian state agencies that conduct public opinion polls recognize the rise of dissatisfaction with the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin among Russians.
