The elimination of forest fires in the Vysokobirsky forestry of the Balakleysky forestry enterprise in the Izyum district of the Kharkov region is underway for the third day. As of Friday morning, its area was 983 hectares, the regional department of State Emergency Services reported on September 20.
“37 units of equipment and 158 rescuers from Kharkov, Lugansk and Poltava garrisons of the State Emergency Service, including two pyrotechnic crews of the State Emergency Service, as well as units of the local fire department of the village of Andreevka, a fire train, 12 units of equipment and 36 forestry workers were involved in firefighting,” it said in the message.
The fire in the Vysokobirsky forestry broke out in the afternoon of September 17. Its elimination was complicated by dense mining of the forest.
Two days ago it was reported that in the Izyumsky district, due to the rapid spread of forest fires, it was decided to evacuate the residents of the village of Andreevka. At the time, there were 14 fires in the region.
