60 million euros will be allocated for shelters and heaters, and 100 million euros from the fixed assets of the Russian Federation will be used for repairs and renewable energy sources.
The European Union will allocate 160 million euros to Ukraine to support energy security before the winter. This was said by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen in Brussels at a joint press conference with the Executive Director of the International Energy Agency, Fatih Birol, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
“At least €2 billion of support for energy security has already been provided to Ukraine following Russia’s full-scale invasion. €100 million of Russia’s frozen assets will be aimed at repair work and renewable energy sources,” she noted.
We remind you that the European Union has given Ukraine aid worth 118 billion euros since the beginning of a large-scale war unleashed by Russia.
Earlier, the media reported that the European Union planned to allocate up to 40 billion euros to Ukraine without the involvement of the United States.
