Israel has announced a new phase of war

Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Galant announced a “new phase” of the war against Hezbollah, due to which the IDF is concentrating resources on the northern front, near the border with Lebanon, the report of Times of Israel.

“The center of gravity is moving north. We are moving forces, resources and energy there,” Galant told Israeli Air Force personnel at the Ramat David airbase.

According to him, Israel is at the beginning of a new phase of this war. The minister pointed out that the goals of the Israeli military in the north are “clear and simple” – to safely return the residents of the towns there to their homes.

The offensive plan was also reported to the Israel Defense Forces. At the meeting, Chief of the General Staff Herzl Halevi approved a plan for defense and offensive in the “northern direction” from Israel, where Lebanon, in particular, is located.

Halevi said that “every time we work on a certain stage, the next two stages are ready, in each of them the price for Hezbollah must be high.”

“We still have a lot of capabilities that we haven’t activated yet,” added the chief of the General Staff.

Meanwhile, Reuters reported, citing the Lebanese Ministry of Health, that after the explosions on September 18, 14 people died and 450 were injured.

A Reuters reporter in the southern suburbs of Beirut saw Hezbollah members hastily removing batteries from any radios that had not yet exploded and throwing them into metal barrels during a wave of explosions.

As reported, the second wave of explosions began in Lebanon on Wednesday, but this time various gadgets, mopeds and even cars exploded.

Let’s remember that on September 17, pagers used by Hezbollah militants exploded almost simultaneously in different parts of Lebanon. At least 11 people died, about 4 thousand were injured, and the condition of 400 victims was assessed as critical.
