Ukrainian artillerymen are actively working on American M109A6 Paladin artillery mounts.
Soldiers of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter March demonstrated combat activity with the American Paladin self-propelled howitzer. The video was published on the YouTube channel of the 28th Separate Brigade.
“I like how it all explodes, burns, glows there. It’s cool when the enemy is on fire,” said a serviceman with the call sign “Shaman” about working with self-propelled guns.
“We made such shots that the soul rejoiced that we worked on the cannon – they broke it, it went straight to their caponier,” added the fighter.
The 155-mm self-propelled artillery unit M109 Paladin is the main self-propelled gun of the US Army, which appeared in 1963 and underwent many modernizations. He is a “veteran” of seven total wars, from Vietnam to Iraq.
The main armament of the M109A6 self-propelled gun is a 155-mm M284 howitzer with a barrel length of 39 calibers, mounted in a turret on an M182 cannon carriage.
The firing range when using an ordinary shot is 24 km when firing active rocket projectiles, the firing range increases to 30 km.
As an additional weapon, a 12.7 mm M2 machine gun is mounted on the right side of the self-propelled howitzer turret. Self-propelled guns also have a modern on-board navigation system and automatic fire control system.
We remind you that earlier fighters of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade, together with aviation, destroyed the headquarters of the Russian field. RV fighters and Kurt&Company units of the 28th Mechanized Infantry Brigade destroyed another Russian attack group on the approach to Toretsk.
