Former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was allegedly attacked on Sunday, September 15, while he was playing golf in West Palm Beach, Florida.
US Vice President Kamala Harris called former President Donald Trump after a possible second assassination attempt on him. The Hill reported this on Tuesday, September 17, citing a White House representative.
He described the conversation as “short and friendly.” In particular, Harris expressed joy that Trump is safe.
“I checked if he was okay. And I told him what I said publicly – there is no place for political violence in our country. I am running in this election and in this race for many reasons, including the fight for our democracy, and in democracy there is no room for political violence,” Harris explained.
President Joe Biden also spoke with Trump on Monday and Trump described the conversation as a “very good call,” noting that they discussed Secret Service protection issues.
Let’s remember that on September 15, a shooting took place near a golf club in Florida, where Trump was staying. Secret Service agents spotted the gunman and opened fire on him. He was later imprisoned. The FBI called the incident “consistent with an assassination attempt on Trump.”
The detainee is Ryan Wesley Root. According to media reports, he expressed support for Ukraine on social networks after the Russian invasion.
