A group of 27 Ukrainian children are stuck in Austria due to bad weather
As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a group of 27 Ukrainian children – winners of all-Ukrainian and international Olympiads in physics, astronomy and chemistry – cannot leave Austria due to the bad weather that has engulfed Europe.
The Polish government has declared a state of emergency due to massive flooding. In Lower Silesia, a dam burst and part of the town of Paczków was immediately evacuated.
In the Czech Republic, at least 12,000 people were evacuated across the country. The Czech town of Litovel was also 70% underwater.
Ukraine said it was ready to send units of the State Emergency Service to combat flooding in Poland, the Czech Republic, Moldova, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary.
Ukraine joined the rescue operation, sending its rescuers to Poland.
Poland is experiencing one of the largest natural disasters in recent years.
