The town of Stronie Śląski in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Poland was flooded after a dam on the Morawka River burst following heavy rainfall.
The water is washing away everything in its path, including houses. Even a fire truck sank. The situation in this town is tragic. The only way to get to the town is by helicopter. A Mi-17 helicopter has been sent to Stronie Śląski to help with the evacuation. Black Hawk helicopters have also already flown out from Wrocław to the town. This was reported by TVP Info.
Soldiers of the Polish Armed Forces had arrived in the city earlier to evacuate and help locals. However, the soldiers have now been cut off from the land route back.
Many residents are asking to be evacuated from the roofs of their houses.
Let us recall that the biggest floods in the last 30 years have hit Central Europe. Severe flooding has been recorded in the Czech Republic, Poland and Romania. Populated areas in Austria, Slovakia, Hungary and Moldova have also been flooded.
