The German leader said that this decision will not change even if other countries, especially the United States, decide otherwise.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said he would not allow Ukraine to use German weapons to strike deep into the Russian Federation. This decision will remain in effect even if other countries decide to lift their restrictions. Scholz made the corresponding statement in a conversation with residents of the city of Prenzlau in Bradenburg, Welt reports on Saturday, September 14.
“That remains the case. That’s why I will stick to my position even if other countries decide otherwise… I won’t do it because I think it’s a problem,” said Scholz.
The Chancellor also commented on reports that the US may remove existing restrictions on the use of weapons, stressing that not all speculation is reliable.
He confirmed that Germany will continue to provide military support to Ukraine within the framework of the agreed terms, but will remain true to its principles of limiting the use of military resources.
We remind you that Scholz also said that Germany does not plan to send long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine, and this is the final decision.
