It is cheaper to make weapons in Ukraine than to make or buy them in the West. Denmark has called on European countries to finance arms production in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian military received 18 Bogdan artillery mounts, the production of which was financed by Denmark. This was announced on Saturday, September 14, by Danish Defense Minister Trols Lund Poulsen in a speech at the Yalta European Strategy Forum.

Poulsen visited Ukraine in March 2024. Then the main request was to increase the production of weapons – missiles, drones and artillery.

“This is the first agreement we concluded in July we submitted an order (to Ukrainian manufacturers – ed.) for the production of 18 Bogdan artillery systems, and this weekend they were transferred to the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” said the Danish. Minister of Defence.

He also noted that it is cheaper to manufacture weapons in Ukraine than to manufacture or buy them in the West. It’s also cheaper to keep it running. Considering this factor, Denmark calls on European countries to finance the production of arms in Ukraine.

The former Minister of Strategic Industry, Alexander Kamyshin, in turn, noted that every Ukrainian defense company can produce more weapons. However, this requires sufficient funds.

Let’s recall that in August Denmark announced a new package of donations worth about 783 million Danish kroner (more than 104 million euros) to support Ukraine’s military needs. The main fund will be spent on the purchase of new military equipment through the Ukrainian defense industry and international partners.
