The Ukrainian side has managed to carry out 57 exchanges of prisoners of war since the beginning of the war.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war between Ukraine and Russia, 3,672 Ukrainians have been returned from captivity. This was announced by Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets on Telegram on Saturday, September 14.
He recalled that today 103 Ukrainians have returned from captivity in Russia. Most of those released were people who had been held since the early days of the war.
Among those released were defenders of the 36th Marine Brigade, the National Guard, including the 12th Azov Special Forces Brigade, border guards, and representatives of the Kraken special forces. There were also representatives of the National Police and Terrorist Defense, State Emergency Service, and units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“In total, since the beginning of the mass invasion, 57 exchanges of prisoners of war have been carried out and 3,672 Ukrainians have been returned… Families hoping for the same news, do not lose faith! your loved ones go home,” assured Lubinets.
We remind you that on September 13, Ukraine returned 49 citizens, of which 23 were women. Also, for the first time in more than a year, the Azov warriors returned from captivity. Yesterday there were 15 fighters, and today there are 23 more.
