International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) observers have begun work at the high-voltage power transmission system substations.
This was reported by the press service of Ukrenergo.
It is noted that yesterday, September 12, the IAEA monitoring mission visited one of the Ukrenergo substations, which was included in the list of key ones in the context of ensuring the safe operation of the NPP.
The presence of the IAEA monitoring mission at key power substations should become an additional factor in deterring Russia from attacks on transmission system facilities, – emphasized the head of Ukrenergo Alexey Brekht. – The attention of the international community is a guarantee of our support in countering energy terrorism.
The company notes that in early September, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi agreed to expand the mandate of the agency’s monitoring mission – now IAEA inspectors must monitor the situation not only directly at Ukrainian nuclear power plants, but also at key substations of the power transmission system.
