The military facility is owned by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The plant produces ballistic missiles and drones.
Israel Defense Forces (IDF) special forces raided Syrian territory over the weekend to destroy a ballistic missile and drone factory near Masyaf in Hama province. This was reported by the Middle East Eye.
It was learned that the military facility belonged to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The plant produced weapons used by the Lebanese Hezbollah movement.
The facility has reportedly been operating for more than ten years, and Israel has already conducted airstrikes in 2023. This time, according to the publication, the operation began with attacks on access roads, posts of business security, as well as the headquarters associated with the Syrian military security service. Military helicopters transported special forces to the site, while attack helicopters and drones patrolled the air to prevent the approach of enemy forces.
On the ground, Israeli special forces operated for about an hour. During this time, they entered the territory of the business, removed the equipment and documents they were interested in, mined the plant and blew it up. Israeli forces then withdrew from the area.
Let’s recall that as a result of Israeli airstrikes on several military targets in central Syria on the night of September 8, at least 16 people died.
