A new forest fire has broken out in the Kyiv region.
There are 399 rescuers working at the scene, 103 units of equipment from the State Emergency Service, brought in from different parts of Ukraine, as well as 17 units of equipment from the forestry. Five units of heavy engineering equipment have also been brought in to eliminate the fire to create mineralized strips. Bulldozers, tractors and heavy trucks are working. This was reported by the State Emergency Service.
Rescuers note that due to strong winds, the fire is quickly spreading to new areas. Radiation and chemical protection specialists are constantly examining the area.
The State Emergency Service assures that the radiation level is normal.
The spokesperson of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of the Kyiv region, Victoria Ruban, in a comment to Ukrainska Pravda noted that the Chernobyl zone is burning again. Several days ago there was a fire there, but that cell was extinguished. And now a new cell has appeared in another place, the liquidation of which has been going on for two days.
Let us recall that on September 8, 13 fires occurred in ecosystems in Kyiv on an area of 17,187 square meters. The State Emergency Service stated that this is a disaster for Ukrainian nature.
