In Ukraine, analogues of Soviet grenades – the defensive F-1 and the offensive RGD-5 – began to be mass-produced.
The Ukrainian military received locally produced grenades. The Ministry of Defense announced this on Monday, September 9.
It is indicated that the department has codified and approved for the use of troops a defensive fragmentation grenade – an analogue of the Soviet F-1. This Ukrainian-made ammunition meets the characteristics of modern close combat weapons.
“The hand-held defensive fragmentation grenade is designed to destroy openly located enemy personnel. As a result of its powerful action, it should be used only for cover,” the message said.
The Ministry of Defense also codified and adopted a remote-action hand-held offensive grenade, which is an analogue of the Soviet RGD-5. Its serial production has already been established by the Ukrainian manufacturer.
Earlier it became known as the Ukrainian armored personnel carrier Cornet will start handing them over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The body of this machine is made of high quality Finnish steel.
