The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv extended the measure of restraint in the form of detention for MP Nestor Shufrich for another 60 days, until November 4.
This was reported today, September 6, by the publication “Obshchestvennoye”.
It is noted that during the meeting Shufrich complained of feeling unwell, said that it was difficult for him to sit after the operation, so he stood at the meeting. An ambulance was called to him, and subsequently the politician lost consciousness.
Shufrich’s lawyer Dmitry Savitsky later told reporters that the defense would file an appeal. He noted that Shufrich was taken to a medical facility where he is undergoing rehabilitation after surgery. There, he is under guard in a specially equipped ward.
Shufrich recently underwent surgery to remove two hernias. He said he filed a complaint with the State Bureau of Investigation against investigators because, according to him, he was not given permission for medical procedures in the pretrial detention center for eight months.
Shufrich was charged with treason in September 2023. At the same time, he was given a preventive measure – arrest without the possibility of posting bail.
Let us recall that Shufrich subsequently received another suspicion – for financing the Russian National Guard in Crimea.
