The former official admitted his guilt and said he partially paid the medical expenses for the victims of the high-profile accident.
The district court of the city of Brovary decided to release from custody the former head of the state administration of the Brovary district, Vladimir Maybozhenko, who is suspected of an accident, on personal recognizance. This was reported by the Tribune-Brovary on Thursday, September 5.
The former officer is said to have admitted his guilt and said he partially covered the victims’ medical expenses.
At the same time, the victim mother and daughter noticed that for five months they did not receive any funds, but only promises. They say they paid for the treatment and rehabilitation themselves. In this regard, Maibozhenko appealed to the fact that he is now an unemployed pensioner and receives only one pension.
The former official requested release from custody in order to fully return the funds for the treatment and rehabilitation of the victims. However, he said he did not seek forgiveness from the victims, as such a thing could be considered pressure.
“Ultimately, the judge of the Brovary City District Court ordered the release of Vladimir Maybozhenko from custody on personal recognizance,” the report said.
We remind you that on April 26, 2024, Vladimir Maybozhenko assaulted pedestrians in Brovary. Then four people were seriously injured. A test for alcohol content in the driver’s blood showed 2.31 ppm, while the legal limit is 0.2 ppm, that is, more than 10 times more.
The next day, Maibozhenko was removed from his duties. He was taken into custody without bail. And the court fully granted the prosecutor’s request.
